ABSOLUT
CHALK MIAMI BEACH FESTIVAL - February 3 - 4, 2001
Chalk one up for the 225 painters and sculptors who came together from
South Florida and several countries in Latin America to design spectacular
works of art using their creativity and 15,000 sticks of chalk! After
8 consecutive years of presenting successful chalk art festivals in Pasadena,
California, ABSOLUT brought together artists' spirit and creativity in
Miami Beach, celebrating the cultural diversity of the artistic community.
The festival featured 2 center pieces- "Absolut-ly Elemental" designed
by artists from the Art Center/South Florida, and "Absolut Freedom" presented
by renowned artist, Romero Britto. The event benefits the Light
Bringer Project, a nonprofit organization in support of cultural art
programs, with proceeds going to Art Center/South Florida, a nonprofit
organization dedicated to advancing the practice of arts in South Florida.
