a new game is hot or not. I've been a serious gamer all my life, and there's
nothing I enjoy more than turning you on to the good stuff and warning
you about the ugly. Come back for weekly updates. Let me know if
you have a game you want me to check out.
DRIVER
2
Driver 2 Driver was a hit from the day
it first appeared in stores. Gamers were thrilled by the realism and
excitement. Then the day Driver 2 came out, people didn't hesitate
to clean it off the shelves.
Driver 2 lets you take a car and travel
around a vast polygonal environment with extensive and realistic maps.
You can evade the local police or steal a new car and abandon the
one with the criminal record.
One new feature is that you can now
exit the car whenever you want and steal another car or just walk
around. There is also a new two player feature, which allows you to
play cops n' robbers or another fun multiplayer game with a friend.
The bad side to the multiplayer game is that you can only play it
in first person view, which makes it very hard sometimes to control
and watch your surroundings. The multiplayer also doesn't have any
traffic or people on the street because it would take to much graphics.
That's sort of a downer but the whole multiplayer thing kind of makes
up for that. The cut scenes are also vastly improved with about twice
as good graphics, and they all fit in with the great action-packed
story. There are also some mini-games you can play to practice for
the real missions.
You are an undercover cop named Tanner
some time in the 70's, who is using some of the local gangsters to
catch a rich and powerful mastermind that is living in Rio De Janeiro,
Brazil. You must follow missions through 4 different cities, Chicago,
Havana, Las Vegas, and Rio de Janeiro.
The cars all move and swerve realistically.
The cars also get damaged in parts depending on where they were struck.
It is a little annoying though when you run out of time and fail because
you crashed once. You go through many different environments such
as rain, night, and day.
This game is similar to a well-known
series of games for Playstation and the PC called Grand Theft Auto.
One difference is that in those games you are a real gangster and
not an undercover cop. It also is different because Driver 2 has way
better graphics and the GTA series doesn't have a good story line
and basically revolves around stealing cars. Driver 2 is better in
a lot of ways I think. It's very fun, and if you like action, stealing
cars, and a good story, you must have this game.
